The Road Not Taken
by: Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the tother, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy ans wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by
And that has made all the difference.
Do you like to read poems???? I do and I feel very relaxed after I read poems…..when I am reading poems I get lost into my own world. When I was reading this poem I imagined myself in the very situation but I realized that I am not the only person who has difficulty when making decision when I many other options. This poem reminds me and helps me realize that life is not easy but you should never look back and you should be happy with the things you have. It also tell us that no one know how the future is like. We have to live it in order to see it.
The first stanza of the poems describes how the author was confused, as he wanted to try out both the roads but he only had a choice of trying out one. The stood there for some time trying to figure out which way to take and looked as far down as he can see. He keeps looking at the road trying to decide which road to take.
On the second stanza he says that he chose the other road but he realized both of the roads looked the same. The reason why he decided to take the second was because it seemed less used and less travelled.
The third stanza of the poem the author describes about how similar both the roads looked and he had noticed that the leaves were both fresh fallen on both of them and had not been walked on. He also says that the left the other one for the next day which he doubts about coming back to it.
On the third stanza he says that he expresses himself by relief or exhausted sigh. The author is still confused if he took the right road.
Well nobody knows about their future unless u like it and see it and its true that what ever path we choose will affect our future one way or the other.
