Funny moments of my life
I remember the day vividly. The reminiscence is still as fresh as daisy and as clear as crystal. I had just been moved from a kinder garden school to another school. Until this time I didn’t know how to speak English but I understood it when other people spoke to me.
My first day at my new school was not excellent as I had expected it to be. Everyone in school was really mean to me. I didn’t know we had to speak in English so I started speaking to my new friends in my mother tongue. Everyone started laughing at me, but I didn’t know what the reason was exactly. Later in the afternoon after lunch a girl was talking to me in English but I replied in Nepali, she was so shocked that she went up to the teacher and told her that I was talking in Nepali. I got in trouble. I was called by the teacher and told that I should not speak in Nepali. I got really nervous and I started shaking because I didn’t know how to respond to my teacher so I kept quite. Latter in the evening I got home and I told my dad about how bad my day had been and about how I got in trouble. From that day onwards my dad started teaching me how to speak in English. Many of my friends used to laugh at me at the starting but I tried to ignore them and when I got home I always used to cry feeling helpless. Within few weeks I started speaking properly and in fact better than some of my friends.
Thereafter no body dared to make fun of me and I managed to make good friends.
