Have you ever thought about the songs you listen to in different language?
Well as we were practicing for out French week program, we had to choose a song to sing so we decided to choose a song called Champs Elysees.
When some one listens to this song for the first time, they think it is such a happy song and you will just fall in love with this song the very first time you hear it. Well as I went for the practice twice and full of energy son but I realized that I had a misconception about this song because in real it is not a happy, it is a very sad song. We realized this after we translated this song from French language to English language.
“Champs-Élysées means “Elysian Fields” it is one of the most spectacular thoroughfare of Paris, running west from the Place de la Concorde to the Place Charles de Gaulle-Étoile (formerly called the Place de l’Étoile). All major civic celebrations take place along this broad avenue, including the Bastille Day military parade on July 14.”
The song is about a lonely guy walking in the street along and his heart is open to even the unknown people, and he says that he will say to anyone and his heart is always welcoming to even everyone. When you translate the song it sounds like he is waiting for someone.
I think I everyone should listen to this music…it’s a nice music.
